I found this thread due to a similar issue, the reader view was black and didn't show anything. I downgrade to 3.48 to be able to use the viewer on a second monitor. I found that the real issue was opening the viewer on a second monitor. Cool!Įdit: The instructions below does not fixed my issue. This was preventing Calibre from working properly. My problem was that I was planning to contribute to Calibre, so I had set an environment variable called DEVELOP_CALIBRE_FROM. Set it in environment variables in Windows? Done, no effect, did I do it wrong? I don't know, how could I know?ĮDIT: Solved the problem for me. What the fuck, what exactly you want me to do Goyal? Qt documentation is shit and doesn't tell anything. try updating your drivers and if that does not work, turn off hardware rendering as described here: It will be an incompatibility with your graphics card/drivers. Pls send helps.ĮDIT: I found this but I'm not making any sense of it I tried repair install, updated Calibre to latest version, then tried repair install again, then tried clean install after scrubbing previous install leftovers with Revo. Problem is it's not opening in any way, not when clicking epub in explorer, not from Calibre, not from start menu as standalone, not even as admin. I tried Sumatra and Koodoo for a while as alternate viewers and then returned to Calibre's own.
